In an effort to bring further attention and deterrence to driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs, the Niagara Regional Police Service will be reporting the names of those people who are charged with an alleged criminal impaired driving offence in the Region.

At approximately 5:00am on Tuesday March 10, 2020 2 District (Niagara Falls) uniform officers were called to the area of Lundy’s Lane and Kalar Rd in the City of Niagara Falls following the report of a robbery.
When officers arrived, they located an adult male who alleged that he was robbed at knifepoint.
Further investigation by officers has revealed the male was confronted by two males and two females in a nearby motel room and had a large sum of currency taken.

On March 9, 2020, uniform patrol officers from the 6 District – Port Colborne office of the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) responded to a property damage in-progress at a residential apartment building on Victoria Street in the City of Port Colborne.
Witnesses reported a laundry room door had been wedged closed and they overheard noises coming from inside. Upon arrival officers determined a break and enter had occurred within the laundry room area of the building.

The Niagara Regional Police Service Central Fraud Unit is investigating a rental scam that has victimized several people looking to rent a home in the City of Welland.
At this time, detectives have received four reports of people losing money in a rental scam involving a home that is under construction and fraudulently rented out to multiple potential renters.

The investigation into this matter has remained ongoing by 1 District detectives.
The investigation revealed that on January 30, 2020, three armed masked males attended a Scotia Bank in the area of Geneva Street and the North Service Road in St. Catharines. The males attempted to gain entry to the open bank but were unable to do so and left the area in a car.
