In August of 2020, detectives with the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS), 1 District (St. Catharines) Street Crime Unit, began an investigation into the sales of fentanyl, from a residence, in the area of McDonald Street and Rebecca Street, in the City of St. Catharines.

On Thursday, August 6th, 2020, 5 District (Fort Erie), detectives with the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS), with the assistance of uniform officers and the K9 unit, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant on a residence in the area of Waterloo Street and Bertie Street, in the Town of Fort Erie.
As a result, police seized 642.8 grams of cocaine, 28.7 grams of fentanyl, 6 grams of heroin, 6.9 grams of crystal meth, 32 pills of methylphenidate and $1900 in Canadian currency.

Since July of 2020, members of the Guns, Gangs and Grows Unit and the Opioid Unit with the Niagara Regional Police Service have been investigating suspected drug trafficking from a residence in the area of St. Peter Street and Maplecrest Avenue, in the City of St. Catharines.
